You may be aware that there is a measles outbreak in North West London. We have recently been informed of a local outbreak of 14 cases in one school, resulting in four hospitalisations to date. The vast majority of measles cases are among unvaccinated children.

If you or your child are not vaccinated, please consider booking an appointment with one of our practice nurses. If you’re unsure, they will talk through the risks with you.

Measles is an infection that spreads very easily and can cause serious problems in some people. If you suspect you or your child may have measles , please call your GP surgery before you walk in or call NHS 111 for advice. If you need to visit A&E in an emergency, it is important that you inform the team as soon as you arrive to reduce transmitting the virus to other at-risk patients in the waiting area. s
